Meet Tim Travis
Tim is a creative and accomplished content marketing, brand storytelling, and digital communications professional based in Vancouver, BC, Canada.
So who is this guy? What does he do? And what has he done? Here’s a snapshot.
Hi, I’m Tim Travis and I’m a veteran marketer, communicator, content manager, and professional storyteller. Here’s my story.
In the third grade, I was cast as an extra in a tourism commercial for my hometown. In high school, I gained high marks in an oratory contest for delivering an impeccably timed and humorous speech on advertising. In university, my first press release for a campus event garnered an interview on CBC radio. And then I won an award for organizing and promoting the event.
It was only natural that I would follow a career in marketing and communications.
Today, I mix my natural talents with a love of storytelling and a rich blend of communications and marketing experience in fast-paced, ever-changing organizations.
At my core, I’m a storyteller and a content marketer. I love funnels and flywheels, frameworks and audit docs, SEO and now AEO, and I excel at ideation and workflows as much as I do at writing and editing. I’m a well-rounded and experienced content marketer who started out writing weekly flyers for a co-op grocery store and eventually created content for leading global and national research firms, fast-growing startups, the biggest and most successful law firms in BC, and financial services and credit unions.
But while content is my primary area of expertise, my experience and skill set are extensive and diverse, including:
| marketing campaigns | content marketing | communications |
| public relations | writing & editorial | digital & email marketing |
| SEO/SEM/AEO | online advertising | social media |
| market research & customer insight | analytics & data analysis |
| brand & identity programs | event promotion & organization |
| …and much more! |
I’ve applied, honed, and polished those skills across an array of organizations.
I attended the two oldest universities in Canada: the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton with a Bachelor of Business Administration (marketing concentration), and a one-year French language immersion program at Université Laval in Québec City. I’ve also taken courses on digital marketing at the British Columbia Institute of Technology and BrainStation and regularly attend conferences, webinars, and meetups to deepen my expertise in content, digital marketing, and communications.
Tim Travis resides in Vancouver and is an avid traveller having touched foot on every inhabited continent (only Antarctica left). In 2010, he was one of 600 Canadians to carry the Paralympic torch. Read more about those experiences and adventures at timotrav.blogspot.ca.
